TRAVERTINE IS THE BEST FOR:

One of the most magnificent and preferred features of travertine is its weathered look, which makes it the perfect stone to recreate a dreamy atmosphere at your home. For centuries travertine has been used as a material for construction and outer layer of buildings (for example the Coliseum in Rome, Italy). It is also the most preferred option for floors, walls, backsplashes and countertop tiles.

TRAVERTINE IS A SEDIMENTARY ROCK:

Travertine is a sedimentary rock composed of calcium carbonate (CaCO3), which is the form of limestone deposited by hot mineral springs. Key characteristics of Travertine stone are the holes within the stone which are caused by CO2 bubbles in the mixture as it is setting. The bubble formation is due to the presence of organisms such as macrophytes, bryophytes, algae, etc.
